Provides the documented Legal Sex for each case.

Limitation

Patient data may change over time and therefore case level results may also change.

Relies on accurate and complete variable mapping to the correct MPOG concept for each mapping type

If a site doesn't contribute data from the Patient Attribute file the cases for Legal Sex and Sex at Birth will all return Null.

Data quality is limited to individual site documentation accuracy, completeness, and variable mapping, which is performed by each site, independently. MPOG, as the coordinating center, reviews data quality at each data upload and monthly via Data Diagnostics and Case Validation tools. This review, while thorough, may not contain all data elements relevant to this phenotype and thus should be carefully reviewed by the user.

This phenotype uses MPOG concepts for "Legal Sex" and returns an enumeration based on the value mapped.

The Legal Sex concepts are used with variables from the patient attributes file then crosswalked to the corresponding enumerations using the table below. Cases that are unmapped or do not have data for the concept type will return -999 (Missing/Null).

If there are multiple of the same concept linked to a single case, return just that enumeration once.
If there are multiple different concepts linked to the same case, return -997.
