Description
This phenotype determines the median PEEP value for all measured (actual) PEEP values captured during a procedure
Limitation
Only values mapped to MPOG concept 3210 Positive End Expiratory Pressure - Measured will be considered for this phenotype. Case start and case end times are determined using additional MPOG logic- please reference those phenotypes specifications for more details on limitations.
Data quality is limited to individual site documentation accuracy, completeness, and variable mapping, which is performed by each site, independently.
MPOG, as the coordinating center, reviews data quality at each data upload and monthly via Data Diagnostics and Case Validation tools. This review,
while thorough, may not contain all data elements relevant to this phenotype and thus should be carefully reviewed by the user.

Logic
This phenotype returns the median value for positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) using actual or measured values mapped to MPOG concept 3210 Positive End Expiratory Pressure- Measured. Only values captured between case start and case end are included in determining the median value. Case start and end are determined by the following algorithm:
- Case Start
- Patient In Room. If not available, then
- Induction End. If not available, then
- Anesthesia Start
- Case End
- Patient out of room. If not available, then
- Anesthesia End
The PEEPActual phenotype is used to determine the list of starting PEEP values. The median PEEP is then determined from the resulted list.
